Did the FBI investigate Trump and Epstein?
And what ever happened to the Katie Johnson FBI complaint?
Buried in the middle of 3 million Epstein files released Friday was an FBI document that neatly summarized some pretty creepy tips that were phoned into the FBI about Jeffrey Epstein and Donald Trump.
Some of the tips seem too crazy to be true, and to be clear, there’s no evidence that they are true. The DOJ deemed them “sensational” and just plain false.
"Some of the documents contain untrue and sensationalist claims against President Trump that were submitted to the FBI right before the 2020 election," the DOJ said. "To be clear, the claims are unfounded and false, and if they have a shred of credibility, they certainly would have been weaponized against President Trump already."
But here’s the thing. There’s also no indication, at least from the files that I’ve seen thus far, that they were even investigated. Regardless of who was president when the tips came in, they should have been thoroughly investigated.
