I’m old enough to remember when Jeffrey Epstein’s “client list” was all the rage on social media, especially in MAGA circles, where it became part of the platform to re-elect President Trump.
Remember, way back in 2024, future FBI director Kash Patel promoting the idea that the Biden-FBI was covering up information about Epstein? Or that J.D. Vance said during the 2024 campaign “We need to release the Epstein List?” Then after Trump’s election, almost immediately, Pam Bondi vowed to release the files, claiming that the list was on her desk. Then she released binders of “files” that contained regurgitated information?
Elon Musk, Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan – all of them – talked incessantly about Epstein and how it was all one big coverup.
For years, a central promise of the MAGA ecosystem was that powerful people would be held to account, and the Epstein case was arguably the clearest test of that promise. It created an expectation among millions of people that the Epstein records would be released and the people involved with Epstein would be exposed and punished.
Now we know: clearly that didn’t apply to a President whom these influencers supported — and is now (still) failing to release the files and investigate others who were involved with Epstein.
How do we know that?
